In conversation with Dr Sebastian Reddig, Chief Product Officer at GAMOMAT, CasinoBeats explores why the upcoming release of Roman Legion Deluxe on 21 November is catching attention.

CasinoBeats: Roman Legion Deluxe is part of your successful Deluxe series. What was the thought process behind creating the Deluxe line, and how do you decide which classic games to upgrade?

Dr Sebastian Reddig: The motivation behind the Deluxe series arose from the desire to modernise the visuals of some of our original games. Last year we celebrated our 15th anniversary and wanted to mark the special occasion by revisiting our classics to elevate them to a more contemporary standard. We wanted to go further than just updating the visuals by modernising the games across the board.

Players have always appreciated the maths behind our games, but there was occasional feedback from our community that some visuals could benefit from a slight refresh. So, we listened to our players and used their feedback, along with sales data and game reviews, to identify which titles would benefit the most from an upgrade. We’re fortunate to have an extensive portfolio of strong performing games to back up the belief that we make the right decisions.

CB: Roman Legion has been a fan favourite for over a decade. What is it about this game that continues to resonate with players, and what makes the Deluxe Version an even more engaging experience today?

SR: The mechanics of Roman Legion are key to its popularity. The sound, the theme, and the legionnaires on the battlefield all contribute to a unique atmosphere. It’s thrilling to watch the legionnaires become sticky as you progress through the free games. This element creates a spectacular experience that players really enjoy.

Personally, I think it’s a brilliant game. Streamers have really taken to the game thanks to its high volatility and the excitement that it builds during the free game rounds. Roman Legion Deluxe doesn’t change the core experience but enhances it visually, ensuring the same excitement with polished graphics and a refined soundtrack.

CB: Updating classic games like Roman Legion comes with its own challenges. How did you approach the task of modernising the visuals and sound without altering the core gameplay, and how do you ensure you strike the right balance for long-time fans?

SR: The challenge is to retain the original charm of the game while bringing it up to modern standards. We don’t want the player to feel like they’re playing a copy of another developer’s game. It must retain the unique GAMOMAT aesthetic while looking fresh and polished.

Over the years, we’ve brought in some razor sharp minds to our team that have honed our craft, allowing us to push the boundaries with animations, sound, and graphics. But at the heart of it all, the maths remains timeless. It’s this balance between technical advancements and the preservation of what made the game great that really defines the process.

CB: Roman Legion’s mechanics, particularly the high volatility and Sticky Wilds feature, play a key role in its enduring appeal. Can you explain how the game’s maths and mechanics work in harmony with the visuals to create such an immersive experience?

SR: Players are immersed in the game thanks to the battlefield, riders, the legionnaires, and the iconic Roman visuals. The Roman Empire has a rich history that has long garnered players’ attention, and that’s a big part of its appeal. The sticky wilds feature makes it feel as if you are surrounded by fierce legionnaires, creating tension and intensity.

Added suspense comes from the fact that the game is a high volatility one, with some rounds providing truly spectacular wins depending on how the legionnaires appear. The potential for high rewards during certain spins keeps players fully engaged and adds to the overall thrill.

CB: Roman Legion Deluxe is set to release on 21st November 2024. What can players expect from this version, and are there other games lined up for the Deluxe treatment?

SR: Players can look forward to a more responsive, cleaner game experience with our new console, which we introduced last year. The games are now more adaptable for operators and perform better overall, without impacting the core gameplay. Technically, it’s a smoother integration, but the game is unchanged. Just as we did for Ramses Book Deluxe and Crystal Ball Deluxe, we’ll be creating a limited series of 3D figurines of the main characters which will be presented exclusively to VIPs. These have become sought-after collectors’ items.

We’re especially proud of the Roman Legion figure — it’s truly a standout. As for future releases, we do have more Deluxe titles in the works, but I’ll keep those under wraps for now. Let’s just say Roman Legion Deluxe won’t be the last in this series.

Writing for CasinoBeats, GAMOMAT hails the launch of a ‘glittering addition’ to its Crystal Ball universe next week, along with the bold prediction that it’s going to be a smash hit.

Much has been made of the impending release of the sequel to GAMOMAT’s hugely successful Crystal Ball and the time is nearly upon us. On October 17th, the igaming world will be able to immerse itself in Crystal Ball Multi Symbols – which is predicted to be a smash hit.

GAMOMAT’s passion for games has never been stronger. The inaugural Crystal Ball first appeared on the scene as a land-based game, before its online version won huge acclaim. It was an instant hit when it launched for land-based players, and anticipation for its online iteration is gaining momentum as the release date approaches.

GAMOMAT is all about delivering outstanding gaming experiences for slot fans across the globe. This has grown the company’s reputation across the industry for delivering unique and mesmerising gaming experiences, and with the upcoming release of Crystal Ball Multi Symbols, GAMOMAT’s position will only grow stronger.

Like its predecessor, Crystal Ball Multi Symbols unfolds in a mediaeval world of fantasy ruled over by an all-seeing sorcerer who returns once again. An ominous castle dominates the brooding skyline. It will be a glittering addition to GAMOMAT’s Crystal Ball universe.

The game design team’s philosophy focuses on engaging mechanics that consistently deliver entertainment.

The powerful Crystal Ball acts as both the Scatter and Wild, triggering 10 Free Games when three, four, or five appear on screen. Before the engaging feature begins, a bonus symbol is selected, and players have the chance to win additional Free Games if any of the nine bonus symbols transforms.

If three, four or five enchanted Crystal Balls are uncovered in the feature, the player will benefit from another regular symbol transforming into a bonus symbol. This magical mechanic continues until all nine symbols are transformed in the round or the Free Spins counter runs out.  Additionally, 10 extra Free Games can be won each time the spell is activated.

A spellbinding soundtrack adds another layer to the experience. The game’s sweeping score carries players deep into a world that heightens the mystery surrounding the sorcerer and aura of the Crystal Ball. Underneath this soundscape is a robust math model that guarantees fairness and balance in the game.

Players can also enjoy the comforts of the classic Card Gamble and Risk Ladder features that together build the anticipation of potential winnings.

On October 17th, Crystal Ball Multi Symbols will be ready for players to enjoy. Who is ready to peer into the Crystal Ball and discover what may lie ahead?

Another week has flown by and another flurry of slot titles have hit the CasinoBeats inbox. This week’s slot round up includes Wizard Games’ enchanted forest, Gamomat’s elemental extravaganza and Apparat Gaming’s crazy cocktails.

Golden Elk – Wizard Games

Wizard Games transported players to an enchanted forest with its latest slot release, showcasing a 5×3 reel grid with 50-paylines and a maximum win of up to x2,576 the player’s wager. This slot has medium volatility with an RTP range of 88-96.25 per cent.

Benedict McDonagh, Managing Director at Wizard Games, stated: “Golden Elk sees us exploring an enchanted forest in our latest release, where our dazzling graphics clearly shine through.

“The action-packed game contains both a free spins and a respins mode, as we look to continue to refine our portfolio to appeal to a broad player base.

“2024 is set to be a milestone year for us, and we’re delighted to kickstart it with this exciting new release.”

When six or more golden elk symbols appear on one spin, the spinning wheel bonus feature is activated.

This presents players with three spins on a mini 3×1 bonus reel that can only reveal either nothing or a golden elk.

Nine wheel pointers sit above the mini reel and each one has the chance to light up when a golden elk symbol lands on one of the three reels. Only one will be selected per elk, and this will also reset the number of spins to three.

Once all spins have been played out, the wheel will spin and each highlighted wheel pointer will point to a multiplied bet amount prizes from x1 to x50 or jackpot prizes of minor (x20) or major (x100), which is then awarded to the player.

However, if players manage to light up all nine wheel pointers, the spinning wheel feature will be skipped as the grand jackpot prize of x2,000 is awarded.

Book of Elements: Burning Ice – Gamomat

Gamomat turned to the ever-popular ‘Book of’ mechanic for its latest title, presenting players with a 6×4 reel slot that has 20-paylines. The studio’s fantasy-themed slot release uses high volatility with an RTP of 96.13 per cent.

Book symbols are available, working as wild symbols and as scatters. As wilds, these symbols will substitute for all other symbols in the game.

As scatters, the book symbols will trigger 10 free spins when three or more appear on the same spin. Landing three, four, five or six books on a winning payline will also provide payouts worth x2, x20, x200 or x500 the player’s stake, respectively.

When the free spins feature begins, one random paytable symbol – not including the book – will be chosen to be enhanced throughout the game mode.

This chosen symbol will be able to expand across the reels each time it appears across three or more of the reels.

These expanded symbols can then provide wins without the use of paylines, increasing the win potential significantly.

Landing three or more scatters in the bonus game itself will result in an additional 10 spins being awarded to the player.

Sticky Star Fruits – Apparat Gaming

Apparat Gaming implemented a cocktail of features into its latest fruity slot releases, offering wins through 10-paylines on a 5×3 reel grid. This juicy slot title uses an RTP of 96.14 per cent.

Martin Frindt, Co-Founder, and Chief Product Officer at Apparat Gaming, commented: “Fruit slots are an absolute blast and in Sticky Star Fruits we deliver explosive big win action through free spins and sticky wilds.

“This is a bold, bright fruit slot that will stand out in any operator game lobby, drawing players to the fruit-filled spectacle they can experience when they fire up the reels for the first time.

“The gameplay is volatile, but this adds to the anticipation of a fruit frenzy occurring with each spin which we know makes for a fruit-lover’s paradise.

“As always, Sticky Star Fruits has been developed with a German accent, an approach that has seen our games be a hit in our home market of Germany and beyond.”

Low value symbols are represented by cherries, lemons, oranges and plums. If the right number of matching combinations land on a single spin, these symbols can offer between x0.5 and x10 the player’s bet.

Next up, grapes, watermelons and coin purses depict the medium value symbols, offering between x1 and x25 the player’s wager.

Bells and lucky sevens top the paytable as the game’s high value symbols, providing wins between x0.2 and x50 the chosen stake.

Blender scatters are also available, triggering 10 free spins when three or more land on the same spin.

Finally, wild star fruit symbols can appear, substituting for all symbols other than the blender scatters. During the free spins game mode, these symbols will stay sticky in their positions on the board.

Pandastic Adventure – Play’n GO

Transporting players to the Far East, Play’n GO’s latest slot releases sees players hope to land high value panda symbols on a 5×3 board, offering 20-paylines and a maximum win of up to x6,500 the player’s wager.

Gold coin scatters can drop into play, triggering eight free spins with instant cash prizes of x3, x5 or x15 when three, four or five land on the same spin, respectively.

Additionally, wild W symbols can appear, substituting for all symbols other than the gold coin scatters. Landing five wilds on a winning payline will award an instant win of x30 the chosen bet.

In the free spins game mode, players need to collect eight wild symbols across the eight free spins to trigger the game’s extra bonus feature – the temple treasure bonus.

For this extra bonus feature, players are given three spins for a hold-and-win style game mode that takes place on an empty reel set.

On this empty grid, flowers can drop into play depicting monetary prizes including x2, x4, x6, x8 and x10 the player’s bet.

Also, jackpot prizes can drop into play, with values of mini (x50), minor (x100), major (x1,000) and grand (x5,000) available.

Each prize that drops into play will stay sticky on the reels, while resetting the number of spins to three.

Once all spins have been completed, or the board becomes filled with prizes, the player will win all displayed prizes.

GAMOMAT, one of the leading German online game developers, is making significant strides in demonstrating how entertainment can seamlessly align with pressing global issues.

Writing for CasinoBeats, Dietmar Hermjohannes, Founder and Managing Director at GAMOMAT group, provides an in-depth look into the Gaming for the Climate initiative and how it encapsulates the group’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

The fight against the climate crisis is a cause we hold close to our hearts. Our Gaming for the Climate initiative launched in December 2021. The scheme ensures a portion of GAMOMAT’s revenue raised from carefully selected games goes directly to support organisations that actively battle climate change and champion environmental conservation. It is anything but a symbolic gesture.

In our view, the igaming industry is brilliantly positioned, with its wide reach, to play a pivotal role in amplifying awareness about climate change and promoting sustainability. But before delving deeper into GAMOMAT’s various collaborations and projects, it’s essential to understand the origins and mechanics of the Gaming for the Climate initiative.

Once it was introduced in December 2021, it meant that a portion of revenue raised from designated games was redirected towards global organisations on the frontline of the climate battle, those working tirelessly to mitigate the impacts of climate change and preserve our planet’s fragile ecosystems.

The intricate process of selecting the right organisations for partnerships is crucial. Our partnership selection process is shaped by well-defined principles, illustrating the type of organisations we’re enthusiastic about backing and the objectives we’re committed to reaching. We’ve curated a detailed checklist, setting the standard for would-be collaborators. Additionally, there is a customised evaluation framework that all organisations must meet. It’s imperative that the game’s theme and its corresponding environmental project are harmonised.

But it goes beyond funding. The initiative takes it a step further as the theme of each game resonates with a particular environmental issue. By connecting our games with environmental issues, we’re not just entertaining players; we’re also fostering awareness of the challenges our planet faces. This dual approach – of both funding and fostering awareness – strengthens the initiative’s impact, ensuring that each game becomes a catalyst for change.

One key example of collaboration within this initiative was the development of the inaugural game Book of Oasis and the global entity Healthy Seas, one that is dedicated to ridding the oceans of ghost nets and plastic debris.

Our financial efforts have played a part in preserving over 200,000 hectares of pristine rainforest in Borneo. Additionally, we’ve been able to play a financial part in setting up fire patrol squads and initiating reforestation in devastated areas.

GAMOMAT’s newest partnership is with the wonderful African Wildlife Foundation, focusing on safeguarding lion habitats in Kenya. A portion of our revenues accrued by Lava Lions aids AWF’s mission to deliver long-term sustainability in the Tsavo West and Tsavo East National Parks.

The initiative is growing every year and it’s fun seeing all the different projects joining the cause, supporting different organisations that protect our climate and/or environment.

Looking at GAMOMAT’s broader CSR initiatives, a shining example is our ongoing support for Krisenchat (“Crisis Chat”), a Berlin-based service. Offering free psychological counselling to distressed children and youngsters, Krisenchat is a beacon of hope, and with our current year’s donation, they will be able to assist an additional 500 individuals.

GAMOMAT is also hugely committed to pursuing carbon neutrality. We have worked alongside external experts to study our carbon footprint. Based on the globally recognised Greenhouse Gas Protocol, we’ve outlined clear, actionable goals to counterbalance our carbon emissions.

But that’s not all. There will also shortly be another significant donation to an organisation that will be announced soon. Without giving away too much: it is also an impressive German organisation that tirelessly advocates for climate neutrality.

Our industry’s extensive reach means we’re in a privileged position to educate and influence a vast audience. By integrating environment-centric themes into our games, we can inspire gamers towards sustainable actions.

I am confident that there is a promising future for GAMOMAT’s Gaming for the Climate initiative. We’re only scratching the surface. Our allegiance to environmental sustainability is steadfast. With each passing year, we aim to introduce more games to this cause-driven initiative. This alignment will guide our path forward, ensuring that gaming is both entertaining and environmentally conscious.

GAMOMAT’s endeavours highlight the transformative power of industries when commerce and conscience converge, illustrating that the world of gaming can indeed be instrumental in shaping a sustainable future.

GAMOMAT is celebrating 15 years of developing a market-leading slots portfolio that has grown to over 150 titles. CasinoBeats sat down with Founder & Managing Partner Dietmar Hermjohannes and Joint-Managing Director Dr Alexandra Krone to talk about the German game developer’s journey and future plans.

SBC: First of all, congratulations on celebrating your 15th anniversary! How was GAMOMAT established?

CB: When we look back, it’s been quite a journey for GAMOMAT since the business was founded in 2008. Our aim from the off was to create engaging and exciting content for the land-based gaming market. A passion for games and my enthusiasm for people were the key drivers behind the establishment of the company.

As you know, the gaming industry landscape is constantly shifting and the biggest change was the rise of online. In order to continue growing, we needed to stay ahead of the curve and we made the decision in 2014 to diversify by providing games for the online market. Today, the GAMOMAT Group is a dedicated B2B online provider, with our games being live in more than 35 markets.

CB: What do you have planned to celebrate your 15th anniversary?

DH: Our 15th anniversary is not only a time for reflection but one that will see us reinvent our classics to bring even more joy to players.

We are pulling out all the stops to make it a memorable occasion. One way in which we’re celebrating is introducing a ‘Deluxe Games’ series that will see our most iconic games re-launched with enriched, cutting-edge graphics. We can’t wait for everyone to join the celebration and experience these deluxe games.

In September, ‘Fancy Fruits Deluxe’ and ‘Royal Seven XXL Deluxe’ will be the first games to be available for players to enjoy in a brand-new light. We’re also planning to follow up these initial games with ‘Ramses Book Deluxe’ before the turn of the year. Additional games will join the ‘Deluxe Series’ in 2024, so watch this space.

We fully appreciate the role that our partners have played in our rise, and they will feature in these celebrations over the rest of the year.

CB: Now serving audiences in more than 35 countries and in 27 languages, how has GAMOMAT developed internationally as a business over the last 15 years?

DH: Reflecting upon the international expansion of GAMOMAT over the past 15 years, it’s important to note the role that our dynamism and adaptability has played.

Of course, this process was not without challenges. Consistent growth has required a deep understanding of local market nuances, regulatory standards, and player preferences, which can often change significantly from one region to another.

Our mission is not just to be present within international markets, but truly local in each market we operate in. This has meant extensive investment in market research, localisation, and culturally-sensitive game development.

GAMOMAT’s unique corporate culture has been instrumental in this journey. Alex has helped the company translate the importance of culture and values for the success of the company into action far more consciously than ever before.

CB: With a team of around 80 employees, what initiatives does the company have in place to support those employees?

AK: As a company, we place a strong emphasis on creating a holistic working environment that stimulates a good work philosophy. This Good Work concept is intrinsically linked to each action or company initiative being individually meaningful. By following this superstructure, we make every activity fulfilling within the context of flexible, individualised working conditions that best suit our team.

Evidence of the fine work we’ve achieved within GAMOMAT has resulted in the company twice being certified as a Great Place to Work. This globally-recognised award acknowledges credible, fair corporate governance and active promotion of employees. GAMOMAT is currently listed among the Top 100 places to work in Germany.

We promote professional and personal growth through flexible, hybrid work models and individualised professional development initiatives. There is a wide selection of diverse training programmes that are accessible through our GAMOcademy.

On top of this, we conduct annual feedback sessions between managers and employees to set individual developmental goals. The concept is named GAMOlog and is designed to nurture a culture of proactive feedback and serves as a tool for systematic personnel development.

Our GAMOMATies bring the philosophy to life daily, which is why we take employee well-being very seriously, providing a comprehensive range of healthcare services that help promote positive mental health.

CB: What ESG initiatives does GAMOMAT have in place?

AK: We are deeply committed to our environmental, social, and governance responsibilities. We’ve gone so far as to launch our own Gaming for the Climate initiative where we designate a portion of our revenue from a selected game each year to non-profit organisations fighting against climate change.

This initiative not only symbolises our commitment to environmental protection but also invites our customers to be part of this vital cause. To date, we have partnerships with Healthy Seas, Borneo Orangutan Survival and most recently the African Wildlife Foundation.

On the social side, we support Krisenchat, a non-profit organisation offering free, confidential advice to children and young people in need. By doing so, we acknowledge the significance of mental health, particularly among the younger population, and make concerted efforts to back organisations addressing this concern.

We’re proud that our ESG initiatives have been recognised in the wider gaming industry. This year, we were honoured to receive the Charitable Community Award at the International Gaming Awards, a testament to our continuous dedication to social responsibility.

CB: With a library of over 150 online slot games, which slot titles have stood out for GAMOMAT?

DH: It’s challenging to single out just a few, I can say that our success isn’t dependent on any one title. Our revenue is driven by our top 20 games, each contributing its share to our overall success. This diversity ensures we cater to a wide range of player preferences, making our portfolio robust and resilient.

If there was one title we had to highlight, it might just be Ramses Book as it’s fresh in our minds following being shortlisted for SBC’s very own Slot Legacy Award 2023. It’s a true classic that has been on the market for 10 years now and remains incredibly popular with players.

CB: Finally, what’s next on the horizon for GAMOMAT?

AK: Looking ahead, our goal is to grow and extend our global presence. We are dedicated to cementing our position as a leading online gaming provider that is known for its exemplary reputation as a top employer.

In the short term, we’ll be celebrating our 15 years as a business with internal parties for our employees as a thank you for all their hard work. We’re really excited by our Deluxe Series where we’ll keep bringing new titles into it, furthering our support for ESG initiatives.

Writing for CasinoBeats, GAMOMAT takes us on the journey of creating Feng’s Fortune as it outlines plans to immerse players in the world of Asian-themed slots.

It’s not every day that you get to travel back in time and discover the secrets of ancient civilisations.

Yet, that’s exactly what our new game allows slot fans to do. As a leading independent software developer, GAMOMAT specialises in creating high-quality games and Feng’s Fortune is that, and more.

Feng's Fortune, GAMOMAT

In our 15th year as a business, GAMOMAT has nurtured a worthy reputation for delivering unique and mesmerising gaming experiences, and with the recently released Feng’s Fortune, we have outdone ourselves.

This slot game instantly transports players to the heart of ancient China, capturing the imagination with its stunning visuals, innovative gameplay features, and an immersive soundtrack that offers a gaming experience second to none.

The game’s features have been developed to produce a harmonious blend of familiar and innovative. Players will find classic elements like GAMOMAT’s much-loved Card Gamble and Risk Ladder, heightening the anticipation of potential winnings. Yet, it’s the inclusion of Free Games and Asian-inspired symbols that push this game beyond the ordinary, offering an absorbing new layer of gameplay.

But what truly stands Feng’s Fortune apart is its attention to detail. Every aspect of the game, from the scroll background’s intricate patterns to the subtle design elements in the symbols, is a testament to the level of craftsmanship that our GAMOMAT studio brings to its games.

The visuals are a feast for the eyes. Asian aesthetics come alive in the game’s design, with symbols like the golden guardian lion, the elegant priestess, and the world-famous Ming vase forming a tableau that immerses players in the cultural richness of ancient China. We have assembled a colour scape that is dominated by a striking blend of gold and red that further enhances this captivating atmosphere.

At GAMOMAT we passionately believe that the soundtrack really sets the scene to draw players deeper into the slots experience. Our Senior Sound Composer Iris Wallner, recent recipient of SBC’s prestigious ‘Game Composer 2023’ award, worked meticulously on the sound to create the perfect ambiance.

In the case of Feng’s Fortune, we set about producing mystical melodies reminiscent of traditional Chinese string instruments. Much like a modern film score, the music transports players to the heart of the ancient Ming dynasty.

Now that Feng’s Fortune is available, players can discover the secrets that lie within the game’s digital landscape. This new title delivers an enthralling journey into the enchanting world of ancient China, a chance to explore the secrets of the mighty phoenix in a visually stunning slot game.

With its breathtaking visuals and immersive soundtrack, Feng’s Fortune offers a gaming experience that you won’t want to miss. The design process has been incredible and now the hidden treasures of ancient China are just a click away.

Another week has flown by so sit back and relax as we guide you through a selection of the industry’s recent slot releases. This week’s curation includes Tom Horn Gaming’s East Asian extravaganza, Relax Gaming’s train bandit backstory, Blue Guru Games’ sea otter sensation and more.

Wild Dragon’s Fortune – Tom Horn Gaming

Transporting players to East Asia, Tom Horn Gaming’s latest slot uses four base game modes on a 5×4 reel board with up to 1,024-ways to win and a maximum win of up to x27,090 the player’s bet. The game is highly volatile with an RTP range of 92 and 95 per cent.

The game’s high value symbols are enhanced by the game’s ‘gifts of fortune’ mechanic, which allows players to increase the amount of payline possibilities.

Each level of this feature represents one of the four high value symbols, with four base game modes on offer.

The initial game mode has one ‘gift of fortune’ as the scroll symbol is able to contribute to a higher number of paylines than other symbols, with 20-ways to win in the game.

The second level sees gold coin symbols also pay independently from paylines as long as at least three symbols appear in consecutive reels. This increases the number of paylines to 40.

Additionally, a third game mode sees the vase symbol do the same, with 100-paylines on offer. Finally, the gold boats can be activated as a gift of fortune allowing players to access up to 1,024-ways.

Each level that is selected causes the player’s stake to also increase. Levels one, two, three and four increase the stake size by x1, x2, x3 and x6 respectively.

These levels also allow for the wild multipliers to have different multiplier values. In level one, multipliers can only appear between x1 and x5, while in the second level, they can reach up to x6. In levels three and four, multipliers can appear up to x7 and x8 respectively.

When activating the free spins game mode, players have four options to choose from with each game mode representing the four gifts of fortune levels.

Money Train Origins – Relax Gaming

Relax Gaming has taken players on a walk through the history of one of its staple slot series with this new release, presenting a 5×4 reel slot with 40-paylines, a maximum win of x10,000 and a Dream Drop jackpot game mode. This slot is highly volatile and uses an RTP of 94 per cent.

Shelley Hannah, Director of Casino Products at Relax Gaming, explained: “It was only a matter of time before the behemoths that are Money Train and Dream Drop came together in one incredibly exciting new release.

“We could not be more thrilled to offer players something they’ve been asking for since the day the Dream Drop Jackpot was officially announced.”

In the money cart bonus game, three spins are awarded on an empty reel set where the triggering bank vault symbols transform into money symbols to display random multiplied bet amounts between x1 and x10 the player’s stake.

Players are given three spins to land as many money symbols on the reels as possible, as well as other enhancing symbols, while each symbol that drops in resets the number of spins to three.

Collector symbols can drop into play, collecting all money values on the reel set and attributing it to its own value for one spin. Special gold persistent collector symbols are also available, collecting the values on every single spin.

Payer symbols are also included, revealing a multiplied bet amount value and adding it to every money symbol present on the bonus game reel set. These are also available in a persistent form for this to occur on every spin.

Furthermore, players can land banker symbols on the reels, revealing a multiplied bet amount value and adding it to all symbols on the reels, and any new symbols that drop in.

Lastly, healers can drop into play to bring between one and three non-persistent collector or payer symbols back to life for between two and seven spins.

Relax’s Dream Drop jackpot mechanic has also been implemented into the slot, with 20 Dream Drop symbols able to randomly appear at once to activate the game mode.

Otterly Amazing – Blue Guru Games

Shining a light on environmental issues with otters and their habitats, Blue Guru Games showcases a 5×4 reel slot with 40-paylines and a maximum win of up to x17,752 the player’s wager. While using an RTP range of 90, 94 and 96 per cent, the slot has high volatility.

In the free spins feature, purple sea urchins can appear. These purple urchins relate to a multiplier selection that appears beside the reel set. These multipliers represent the values that wild symbols will multiply payline wins that they contribute by.

These multipliers start at x2, x3 and x4, with wilds randomly containing one of these three values to multiply wins. Landing three purple urchins throughout the bonus game mode will increase these multipliers by a value of one each.

This increasing multiplier feature can be retriggered repeatedly in the free spins feature and will award one extra free spin each time the multipliers increase.

Additionally, landing three pink urchins throughout the entire bonus game mode will unlock an additional reel above the board, adding an extra 10-paylines to the game.

This feature can be retriggered with a maximum of 5×7 reels and 70-paylines available. Activating this bonus feature will also remove the lowest-value symbol from play each time it occurs while awarding an additional spin each time.

Stacked mystery kelp symbols can also drop into play during the game, revealing a random paytable symbol at the end of each spin they appear on.

Feng’s Fortune – GAMOMAT

Another East Asian-themed release for this list, GAMOMAT has presented a 5×3 reel slot with 10-paylines and a bonus free spins game mode that removes symbols from play. With high volatility, the game has an RTP of 96.11 per cent.

Sabine Müller, Chief Design Officer at GAMOMAT, stated: “Feng’s Fortune is a visual triumph which encapsulates perfectly Asia’s aesthetics which we know players have a special affinity with.

“The game is enriched with spectacular sounds, graphics and animations that deliver a truly fantastic title that players will adore.”

High value symbols are represented by gold dragon statues and female characters. If the correct number of paying combinations fall on a single spin, these symbols can offer between x5 and x150 the player’s wager.

Additionally, gold gong scatter can drop into play. Landing three, four or five scatters on the same spin will provide 10 free spins with instant payouts of x2, x20 or x100 respectively.

For the free spins feature, three random paytable symbols are selected to be the only symbols to appear in the bonus game mode, increasing the player’s chance of landing winning combinations.

The free spins can also be retriggered by landing scatters in the bonus game mode.

Mighty Egypt Riches – Mancala Gaming

Travelling over to Northern Africa, this Mancala Gaming title uses a 5×3 reel board with 243-ways to win to offer a maximum win of up to x826 the player’s bet. This ancient Egyptian-themed game has an RTP of 95 per cent.

Wild cyber Pharaohs can appear on reels two through five in sizes of 1×1, 1×2 or 1×3, substituting for all symbols other than the scatter.

Additionally, bonus text scatter pyramids are available on reels one, three and five, triggering five free spins if three appear at once.

Throughout the base and bonus game mode, mystery symbols can drop into play to reveal random paytable symbols or wilds when the spin has been completed. These symbols are more likely to appear in the free spins.

Win multipliers are also available in the free spins game mode, with each scatter that lands on the board increasing the multiplier by a value of one for each spin.

Furthermore, players can buy access to the free spins feature for the price of x37 their preferred stake.

Ahead of next week’s SBC Summit Barcelona, Dr Sebastian Reddig, Chief Product Officer at online game developer GAMOMAT, talks about the company’s “massively successful” Fire-Respins series, the art of video production and its approach to new markets.

CasinoBeats: You’ve hit a rich vein of form with the Fire-Respins series. Can you expand on how that line-up of games has evolved and why it’s struck such a resonant chord with players?

Sebastian Reddig: Our Fire-Respins series is the first time GAMOMAT has initiated a completely new series with a unique feature across a group of unreleased games. It is a visual triumph that expertly encapsulates the concept which has seen it become a slot fans favourite in all our operational markets.

The ideation behind Fire-Respins evolved from our much-loved Respins of Amun Re series which resonated with players across multiple countries. From here we set to work on introducing the concept within an entirely new range of games. Every game in the Fire-Respins series has its own theme as seen with Sevens Fire a fruit game, the adventure-based Mayan Fire, and Divine Fire as a book theme game.

Sevens Fire was the first release from the series and it instantly caught players’ attention. It has proved very popular from the start and has been long-established in the top rankings amongst our proprietary titles in all our markets.

From a personal perspective, Divine Fire is my favourite from the series. The game incorporates and perfectly blends together the Fire Respins and Book features within one experience. When the eye-catching Fire Orb is complemented by an atmospheric soundtrack it truly makes for a special reels adventure.

CB: Tell us about your upcoming game Alexandria Fire and how you intend to promote it at the forthcoming SBC summit in Barcelona.

SR: There is palpable excitement ahead of the launch of Alexandria Fire on September 29. Once launched it will be available within all our main markets and we’re very confident it will be another hit from the eponymous series.

Alexandria Fire is the latest addition to the Fire Series and the story unfolds against the backdrop of Ancient Egypt. A core driver behind the game was taking the concept to another level, so the Fire Respins fits seamlessly within the narrative where the hero is going to join Isis, the Goddess of Magic and patroness of Alexandria City, to bring the fire of hope back to its former greatness.

The game’s second star element is its reveal feature and it ensures the player will never grow bored. We are especially proud of our promo video created to introduce Alexandria Fire. In fact so much so that we are showing it during the SBC Summit in Barcelona. Once again we’re a session sponsor following our inaugural partnership with SBC in 2021 and we’re excited about consolidating our collaboration.

CB: Video production is getting more and more significant nowadays, when it comes to promoting and advertising games. How is GAMOMAT using it to the best effect when showcasing new titles?

SR: The challenge is capturing the game essence and providing a story snapshot in a short clip. GAMOMAT’s in-house animation department, sound studio and sound designer in Berlin allow us to push the creative boundaries and we can cover nearly the entire process from the conception to the final video.

The stellar work from our team has been recognised with two prestigious awards. In 2021 our Crystal Strike promo video landed two titles at the W3 Awards, which are sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts in New York.

CB: What can you tell us about the newest addition to the Fire series due in December and what can players look forward to from this new release?

SR: In December we’ll welcome the concluding release of the Fire Series, Nordic Fire. This hotly anticipated game will once again include the Fire Respins concept as well as its own unique feature. Nordic Fire is a Viking-themed title where the main character is a powerful Viking warrior doing battle against a supernatural being, Surt. The mission is protecting the Viking village from evil and it will be launched on 13 December – keep an eye out for a brand new feature to make its debut.

CB: Looking more closely at GAMOMAT’s market penetration, how important is Germany right now and what are your expansion plans for the Netherlands and new markets beyond?

SR: The German market is super essential for the business as it’s our home market. We have a positive outlook on the future in Germany as our games are already enjoying success here and there is potential yet to be realised if the number of permits increases.

The Netherlands is another strong performing market for us and our position in the region shows our expansion strategy is paying dividends. Our goal is developing our ideas and games precisely to individual regulated market preferences to give players the best gaming experiences possible.

CB: Finally, can you talk more about the Gaming for the Climate initiative and what you have done already with the Healthy Seas cooperation?

SR: GAMOMAT prides itself on a creative approach to gaming, and our marketing team is emblematic of that philosophy. Our strategy is amplifying the GAMOMAT brand worldwide and promoting our mantra: ‘Ideas, that work’.

We do this through constant innovative marketing strategies and partnerships that reflect our internal beliefs. Gaming for the Climate is the perfect example of this as it shows we don’t just think about the future of gaming. We are also thinking about the future of our environment.

With this in mind, we launched our initiative Gaming for the Climate back in December 2021 because we wanted to use our gaming expertise to turn the tide of the climate crisis. We initiated a fantastic collaboration with Healthy Seas with the mission of supporting their work protecting the oceans around the world and also to free the seabeds from ghost nets.

Their first operation was in Ithaca, Greece, where volunteer divers have been removing ghost nets left on the seafloor by an abandoned fish farm. We have an open dialogue with Healthy Season to understand where our support can be best directed and we’re about to embark on their next mission.

This is just the beginning as we’re exploring other charity initiatives around the world where we can make a measurable difference to our natural environment and future generations.

iGaming Innovation is to form one key aspect of this year’s SBC Summit Barcelona 2022, which takes place at Fira Barcelona Montjuïc on 20-22 September.
